Traffic Affairs department registers 27,923 various violations

Due to a security traffic campaign organized by the Traffic Affairs and Operations Sector, 27,923 various violations were recorded, and 31 minors were referred to the Juvenile Police Department of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation, in preparation for their referral to the Juvenile Prosecution Office, Al Jarida reported.

 

The campaign, which lasted for a week, saw the arrest of 63 irresponsible persons for violations, and referred them to the detention center of the Violations Investigation Department of the General Traffic Department, in preparation for their referral to the Traffic Court, as well as the arrest of 21 persons wanted by various security agencies, and impounding of 7 vehicles sought after by security and judicial authorities.

The sector’s weekly statistics revealed that the Hawalli Governorate Traffic Department ranked first in registering the number of violations during the campaigns with 7,067 miscellaneous violations, followed by the Capital Governorate with 5,135 violations, and then the Traffic Operations Department with 4,765, and in the fourth place came the Traffic Department of Jahra Governorate with 3001, followed by the Department of Al-Farwaniyah governorate with 2,863 traffic violations, followed by the Ahmadi Governorate Traffic Department with 2,610 violations, and Mubarak al-Kabeer Governorate ranked seventh with 1,431 traffic violations registered, while the Traffic Tasks Department ranked last with 1,060 violations.

The statistic indicated that the General Directorate of the Rescue Police, affiliated to the Traffic and Operations Sector, also carried out a number of security and traffic campaigns in various regions of the country, which recorded 324 traffic violations. The police patrols, in cooperation and coordination with the Traffic Operations Department and the Traffic Department in the capital, a campaign was carried out in Kuwait City, especially to catch public transport buses who violate the laws, and 25 buses were stopped for violations, especially for failing to adhere to the speed limits set in the main streets of the Capital Governorate.

On the other hand, the General Traffic Department, in cooperation and coordination with the inspectors of the Technical Inspection Department, and the Traffic Department of Jahra Governorate, implemented a traffic security campaign to remove the dilapidated and neglected vehicles in Jahra Governorate.
