Somalia, US sign USD 92.6 mln development agreement

CAIRO, Aug 29 (KUNA) -- Somalia and the USA signed on Tuesday a development objective assistance agreement worth USD 92.6 million.

The agreement aims at building resilience and stability, stimulating economic growth, and enhancing governance, in addition to financing development projects, Somali National News Agency reported.
Mogadishu and Washington share historical relations, it said, adding that the US supports Somalia in the political, security and economic and counterorism fields, while boosting Somali army capabilities, it added. (end) aff.jsy.
