Serbian Pres: Committed to boost cooperation with Egypt

CAIRO, July 14 (KUNA) -- The visiting Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic emphasized on Sunday his country's commitment to increasing cooperation with Egypt, especially in boosting bilateral trade and Serbian investments in in the north African nation.

Vucic and Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly discussed several topics of mutual interest during a joint meeting at the government's New Administrative Capital headquarters, according to a statement from the Egyptian Cabinet.
Vucic pointed out multiple potential areas for cooperation with Egypt, stating their intention to collaborate on several topics in the near future, the statement said.
Additionally, he commended the vast potential of the Egyptian market, underlining the large population that can yield significant gains for any investor attentive to Egypt.
He also discussed Egypt's tourism potential, particularly the North Coast's proximity to Europe, which makes flights from Europe very short.
Vucic reiterated Serbia's dedication to future joint cooperation plans and projects with Egypt, adding that they will invite Egyptian ministers to visit Serbia and discuss cooperation files individually.
Meanwhile, Madbouly underscored the importance of Vucic's visit to Egypt, noting that it would add positive momentum to bilateral cooperation in political, economic, and cultural fields.
Madbouly mentioned the bilateral agreements signed during the visit, particularly the Free Trade Agreement, aimed at enhancing the movement of exports and imports to increase trade between the two countries, highlighting its role in boosting bilateral cooperation across various fields including health, telecommunications, information technology, and agriculture.
He expressed hope that the Serbian capital of Belgrade would benefit from the services of multiple Egyptian companies to implement projects in the Serbian market, given their extensive global expertise.
Madbouly emphasized the need to maintain current momentum to strengthen bilateral relations, the importance of intensifying high-level visits between the two sides in the upcoming period, and looks forward to starting a new phase of cooperation between Egypt and Serbia to build on this historic visit.
The two sides reviewed the current global situation, noting the unpredictable political climate and its impact on economies worldwide, the statement said.
The Serbian President and the Egyptian Prime Minister also inaugurated the Egyptian-Serbian Business Forum at the New Administrative Capital's government headquarters, attended by numerous representatives from Egyptian and Serbian companies and chambers of commerce. (end) asm.lr.
