Iran, Turkiye aim to boost commercial relations

TEHRAN, Jan 24 (KUNA) -- Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said Wednesday that the country aims to enhance economic and commercial relations with Turkiye.

With the aim to generate USD 30 billion annually, Raisi believes that the two countries have the necessary means at their disposal to achieve such goal.
Raisi, in a statement before his trip to the Turkish capital, Ankara, said there will be documents to be signed to move forward with this plan.
Regarding the war in Palestine, Raisi expressed grief over the relentless Israeli aggression, adding that both countries share the stance of supporting Palestine and Gaza. He explained that much effort has been put into stopping the aggression, but with the US and other Western countries firmly standing behind Israel, no progress will be made.
Raisi's trip to Ankara came upon an invitation from his counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to attend the eighth joint committee meeting between the two countries. The visit also aims to discuss means to improve bilateral relations, especially on the economic and commercial front. (end) mw.dm.
