GCC, New Zealand start free trade deal talks

RIYADH, May 30 (KUNA) -- The first round of talks between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and New Zealand on a free trade agreement kicked off Tuesday at the GCC Secretariat H.Q in Riyadh.

The talks will continue until June to follow up the technical discussions between the two parties to reach a free trade deal.
In a statement, Dr. Redha Al-Marzouqi, head of the GCC negotiating team, stressed that the GCC states are keen on enhancing their strategic relations with the countries and international groups, as the world is witnessing major economic challenges in the post-Covid-19 phase.
The economic deals are of the most important catalysts to economic growth to attracting investment to reach international markets at a low cost, he added. (end) mdm.hm.
