Arab Planning Institute launches entrepreneurship project in Lebanon

BEIRUT, Jan 8 (KUNA) - The Arab Planning Institute (API) launched on Monday a project to spread entrepreneurship and self-employment, under the patronage of Lebanon's Prime Minister Najib Mikati in the northern region of Tripoli.

General-Director of API in Kuwait Dr. Abdullah Al-Shami said, during the project's launching ceremony, that the institute foresees the Arab world as "one" nation, He stressed the need for more capabilities, development, strategic planning to achieve the Arab states development vision.
While also adding, circumstances have changed in Lebanon due to the long-stretched economical struggle for development, expressing gratitude for the enthusiastic Lebanese youth encompassing the training and furthering their abilities for productive innovations.
As ways to benefit them with the API training programs to help form a new nucleus to contribute to building and preparing the future.
On his part, Tripoli's Chairman of Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture Tawfiq Dabousefi is also looking forward to the partnership with the Institute in all aspects to create a hub for big projects to flourish in Lebanon and the rest of Arab World.
Lebanon's contribution to this economic development endeavor is very attainable especially along with the cooperation with other nations to be foreseen with the help of the institute's main objectives.
Dabousefi also called on the City of Tripoli to unveil their abilities in this process to uplift Lebanon's role in the development plans laid out for many Arab states.
This project aims to spread entrepreneurship and private businesses to address the rampant unemployment, he said.
To include a process of information on how to establish such projects and how to maintain, in addition to aiding the youth population and graduates in such endeavors with ways of exploring entrepreneurial capabilities with creative ideas.
A contest will be held under the API entrepreneurship and self-employment project for partakers to compete with ideas and ways of financing and merging their businesses.
The API delegates from Kuwait along with Al-Shami included both heads of the administrative apparatus, Karim Darwish, Director of small and medium Enterprises Center, Dr. Ihab Maqaba, and the Director of Statistics and decisions Support Unit, Abdullah Al-Mutairi. fz.qa.
