CAIRO, July 21 (KUNA) -- The Arab Parliament affirmed that the challenges facing many Arab countries reflect the importance of development projects undertaken by global development institutions such as the World Bank.

This came during the meeting of the Parliament Speaker Adel Al-Asoomi and his delegation with the Executive Director of the Arab Group at the World Bank Abdulaziz Al-Mulla on their official visit to the Bank's headquarters in Washington.
In a statement by the Arab Parliament, Al-Asoomi expressed their keenness on launching the joint development plan with World Bank, which provides technical assistance that strengthens the parliament's legislative and diplomatic role.
On his part, Al-Mulla affirmed that this first of its kind visit contributes in strengthening the relation between the Arab Parliament and the World Bank, The World Bank Group Executive Director representing Bahrain, Arab Republic of Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Maldives, Oman, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, West Bank and Gaza, and Republic of Yemen.
